About the show

This special season of The Academic Citizen follows Prof Mehita Iqani's month-long adventure aboard the grand SA Agulhas II, South Africa's National Scientific Research ship, as she travelled south to Marion Island and embarked on the Agulhas Journey. What awaits her beyond the shoreline is a journey unlike anything she has ever known. This project is part of the South African National Antarctic Programs Artist and Writers Project, which was devised and is run by Prof Charne Lavery at the University of Pretoria and Prof Jean Brundrit from the University of Cape Town.
